Meet the Staff
Dr. Angelica M. Coronado
Dr. Angelica M. Coronado obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, and is licensed to practice law in Texas. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she majored in Finance and graduated Cum Laude. In law school, Angelica was a Staff Writer for The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Minority Issues and a member of the Moot Court Team. She attended the St. Mary's University Institute on World Legal Problems at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and took a course taught by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Angelica practiced immigration, criminal, and family law for almost two years in private practice. For nearly six years, Angelica worked with the non-profit legal service provider, RAICES - The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services. She served as a Staff Attorney and subsequently a Supervising Attorney in the Children's Program providing direct representation to unaccompanied children. Angelica also served as Director of Grants, launched the RAICES Refugee Resettlement Program, served as Interim Refugee Resettlement Director, and as the Director of Family Detention Services. Angelica joined the Attorney for Students Office in September of 2019 and serves as the director. Her passion for providing legal aid services stems from her desire to use her legal skills to aid individuals in critical need. This passion began when she practiced as a student attorney in the Civil Justice Clinic at the Center for Legal and Social Justice in law school.
Dr. Kama Davis
Dr. Kama Davis has advocated for clients since 2001 in a variety of areas of the law and brought that experience to the Attorney for Students Office when she joined the team in August of 2014. She earned a B.A. in Spanish Literature and a B.A. in the Plan II Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and Mediation Training at The University of Texas School of Law and graduated in 2001. Kama worked at Baron and Budd in Dallas, focusing on mass tort litigation. In 2005, Kama opened her private practice, concentrating on consumer issues, debt settlement, and criminal defense. She is licensed to practice law in Texas. Kama is a native San Marcan and is thrilled to be a member of the Bobcat family.
Dr. Ethan Chou
Dr. Ethan Chou received his B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, with a simultaneous degree in Political Science. After graduating and briefly working as a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch, Ethan attended law school and obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from The University of Texas School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Texas. As an experienced legal aid attorney who has spent his entire legal career serving students in higher education, Ethan has intimate knowledge of and practical experience addressing university students' concerns, challenges, and needs. He had the opportunity and privilege to advise and counsel hundreds of students while working at the Legal Services for Students office at The University of Texas at Austin. Ethan gained valuable insight into and developed expertise in immigration law, landlord-tenant law, property law, consumer law, probate law, contract law, debtor/creditor law, insurance law, and tort law. He enjoys legal research and problem solving and is passionate about giving students the tools and resources to advocate for themselves. Ethan joined the Attorney for Students Office in 2020 and is excited to be a part of the Texas State Bobcat family.
